School, School, School
This is a bit of an overdue update. School has been keeping both of us pretty busy lately. I've been trying to get my photography going and Ricky has been busier than ever with homework it seems. A few weeks ago I was able to take engagement photos for Ricky's cousin and I absolutely love them. I've been trying to get my photography blog up and running www.rachellepackard.blogspot.com and needless to say it's been a slow process between school and the million other things going on. But Bennett and Jenessa's photo's are beautiful! Now we're looking forward to Drew's homecoming in just one week! I can't believe how time really flies these days.
Tuesday
Me + You
Love is all you need...We had a pretty chill Valentine's this year and it was just what we needed. We were going to be gone over the weekend so our plans were a bit unsettled leading up to the weekend. Thursday night when I came home from work this cute little surprise was waiting for me on the kitchen table. It was the best ever! Rick thinks he can never surprise me, but I was totally caught off guard, and I loved it! The best part was my cute little plaque that says "Better Days are Coming They're Called Saturday And Sunday".

Thursday

Rick and I have been talking about future plans a lot this last week trying to figure out where we want to be this next year and I have been trying to come to terms with the fact that I am going to be in Rexburg for the next year no matter how hard I wish that I will be relaxing in San Diego. But the good news is that when it's all said and done we're rent free and we're going to be done with school! I guess there's always and upside to everything. Right?
Winter Fest
This was the First year that I finally ventured across the street to Smith Park in Rexburg to see what the Winter Fest was really all about. Every year that I have been up here going to school I have seen the city pile up all the snow on the side of the street to build up the hill where the neighborhood kids like to sled in preparation for this grand event, and finally on Saturday I went over to find out how much fun it really is. There is so much more than sledding! They have carriage rides with the most gorgeous horses and a polar bear swim and even bowling. I think the most fun for me was taking pictures of the whole event.
Living Life
I have been thinking all week about all the things I have been so blessed with. Over this last weekend there two deaths in Rexburg and it was so strange that I heard about both of them right about the time they happened. One man was killed in an avalanche and I heard about it from a woman at the park that was frantic to get her kids and go look for him and the other was a just a young guy up here coming home from work on a Saturday night who ran into a moose on the road. I was waiting to talk to my teacher after class when his wife said her husband had died in an accident over the weekend. They had been married just as long as I have. I haven't been able to stop thinking about what I would do if something like that happened to me. But mostly just how blessed I am. I feel so blessed to be in good health and have a good husband that is here now. It's so easy to take things for granted and lose track of what's important. I've been trying to remind myself all week to remember how much I have right now. So that's my soap box for today.
Friday
A working woman
I am a working woman once again. And yes... I work at a call center. Pathetic! I am supposed to work 18 hours a week and this week I have worked 11. Who needs work? Well... on second thought, I do. I would just prefer not to need work at a call center. What kind of a place is this? Does anyone else ever feel like they're moving backwards some days? I had such a better job in high school. That's terrible. I'm going to be a college graduate in less than a year! What does that say about me? Oh man!
