A working woman

I am a working woman once again. And yes... I work at a call center. Pathetic! I am supposed to work 18 hours a week and this week I have worked 11. Who needs work? Well... on second thought, I do. I would just prefer not to need work at a call center. What kind of a place is this? Does anyone else ever feel like they're moving backwards some days? I had such a better job in high school. That's terrible. I'm going to be a college graduate in less than a year! What does that say about me? Oh man!

Sunday

sunbeams...

Right now Rick and I have been blessed to teach the sunbeams at church. I was so excited to finally have a calling in our very exclusive family ward that I didn't really take any time to stop and think about exactly what this calling was going to mean. Well, right now we're two weeks in and I'm bracing myself for what may be a long time. Today I made a three year old cry while teaching about the plan of salvation. Uh.... wait a minute... I thought this was the plan of HAPPINESS...

Joy in the Journey

Today Devin informed me that I am the one of (if not the most) negative people he knows. Ouch! However, I had an epiphany earlier this week, despite my brother's insulting jab. My whole life I have always wanted to be in the next stage of my life. I have always wanted to be like the big kids, be married, be successful, whatever it was that I didn't have at that particular stage. It dawned on me this week that if I spent my whole life wishing I would be miserable indefinitely. That is definitely not what I want to be. So I have made a resolution to find Joy in the Journey. I can now proudly tell my father that I truly appreciate his words of wisdom. I used to think I had. I mean I really loved President Thomas S. Monson's October 2008 General Conference talk, Joy in the Journey, but it was just this week that I somehow really discovered what it truly meant. So in short. I have now committed myself to stop wishing for what I don't have yet, and start loving what I do have now. Like my amazing husband and the great education that I am recieving.

Wednesday

Back at it

We had the best Christmas break in Washington with the Packards, and it always feels too short when we are on vacation. We're back in Rexburg and back in school. But we're glad to report that we both have jobs as well. Six short months and I'll finally be a college grad!!
